Question by Bunny: Does Missouri child support stop if I have given my child up for adoption?
I’ve been paying child support for three years or so on my son. A year or so ago I relinquished my rights and the adoption was final. My question is, Does Missouri Child Support Enforcement Office owe me money, starting when I relinquished my rights?

No. You could have gone to court and obtained an order to modify the support order, once the adoption was final, but until you do the order remains valid. Surrendering your rights would not allow for termination of responsibilities, but the adoption would. It is not automatic and it is up to you to get the court to modify the order.
