As a young child, Rebecca Hoffman (played by Academy Award® winner Mercedes Ruehl) was raised by a loving and caring family, knowing she was adopted. Following her parents’ deaths, Rebecca begins a search for her natural family. She is contacted by a Navajo woman looking for her own siblings, who were stolen from her mother at birth. Question by mr_and_mrs.x: Where can i get the best information about the child adoption act for USA ?
I am looking for information on the rights of the birth parents, adoptive parents, and children’s rights before, during, and after the birth of the child. I have found a few things and i am sure the rights and laws vary from state to state. I guess i am looking for the federal right and laws. Any suggestions would help. Thank you.

They are EXTREMELY expansive and do vary from state to state. I would imagine you don’t want all of the laws pertaining to adoption and the rights of the parties because that would fill volume upon volume. There are several organizations that handle adoption which can help you. Just google “adoption help” and you can find a few thousand such organizations. Also, many of these organizations have pamphlets they can e-mail or mail to you. They can also put you in contact with a local attorney who specializes in adoption.
